A new beginning for my personal website?
I’ve decided to give another go at having a personal website. This time instead of using the R package Blogdown
I’ll try distill
.
So, what’s my hope for this website this time? I think this time my hope is to use it to keep me accountable to keep reading and staying on top of the current scientific literature that is relevant to my work and interests. I’ll do that by reading articles, summarizing their contents, then writing up a post on what the papers are about and what my thoughts are on the matter (i.e. is it a paper I like, dislike, etc.)
I don’t exactly have a paper on hand at the moment, but hopefully that will change in the near future.
My other hope in doing this is that it will give me more practice simply writing about science. That doing all this website business will help me learn a little more on R, RStudio, R Markdown, git/github, and website building in general, such as CSS which I’m very, very ignorant on even though I know it’s probably not that difficult to learn and understand (it’s just colors and fonts, right?)
But wait! That’s not all!
I may write on other various topics too. They may mix with personal hobbies and interests. Maybe I’ll throw in what fiction I’m reading or how my running progress is going, or just what the weather is like. Right now it’s pretty windy and drizzly.
Also, just for fun, a plot using ggplot2
